I agree - engaging the greater community should be one of our biggest priorities. There are so many layers to Givology that are unexplored. For instance, our projects help addrss migrant worker issues in China, bring renewable energy to classrooms in Uganda - we are doing a lot of exciting work just like Kiva. Anyways, you are right that a social network isn't really a network without a strong and supportive community. Any ideas/suggestions on how to better engage the community, please send them!
